Prof. Ibrahim Abdulhalim

Founder & CEO | Professor of Physics & Photonics

🧠 Academic Background & Training
Prof. Ibrahim Abdulhalim is a physicist and photonics researcher specializing in liquid-crystal devices, plasmonic sensing, and advanced optical imaging systems. He holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and D.Sc. in Physics from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Colorado Boulder and at the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton, focusing on advanced optical systems and photonic device engineering.

🏛️ Academic Appointments & Leadership
Since 2005, Prof. Abdulhalim has been a Professor in the Department of Electro-Optic and Photonics Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), Israel, where he also served as Head of Department for eight years. His academic work bridges fundamental photonics research with applied device development and system-level integration.

🏭 Industry Experience & Technology Transfer
In parallel with his academic career, Prof. Abdulhalim has over 13 years of industrial experience, collaborating with and contributing to leading technology companies including KLA-Tencor, GWS Photonics, and NOVA.

He is the founder of Photonicsys Ltd. (2014), focused on miniature surface plasmon resonance biosensors, and PhotoliqSys Ltd. (2019), specializing in liquid-crystal-based tunable photonic components and imaging solutions.

📚 Publications, Patents & Impact
Prof. Abdulhalim has published more than 250 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, authored 10 book chapters, and holds over 20 patents, reflecting sustained contributions to both scientific research and applied photonic technologies.

Dr. Marwan Abuleil

R&D Manager

Dr. Marwan Abuleil holds a B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electro-Optic Engineering from Ben-Gurion University (BGU). His research and development work focuses on liquid-crystal devices for advanced photonic applications, combining deep academic expertise with practical system-level innovation.
